GRAPHIC CREATIVE, INC. - AWOLNATION - HOLLOW MOON (STORYBOARD / DESIGN) & A LOGO DESIGN

This is the storyboard, that I worked on, to an animated music video which I was a part of as an intern at Graphic Creative, Inc. I worked on a specific scene initially but the director really liked my art style and chose me to clean up the entire storyboard. It was an honor and also a lot of fun to work on.

I also had a chance to work on a logo.

CAR AD FOR SCHOOL PROJECT

I am a big automotive enthusiast and so I decided to create an ad for something within the automotive industry. My advertisement is promoting electric sports cars and electric cars in general. Since electric is big in today’s day and age, especially in the auto industry, I thought I would focus on making an ad for an electric supercar which most of us aren’t familiar with or know are being worked on for release soon. The goal of the ad is to show that there are fun, electric sports cars out there too and not just the usual Tesla sedans and sport sedans. The point of the ad is to showcase that electric cars are the future, or very much the present, and that they are more than just boring cars or family sedans. I wanted to show that they have style, character, and can be outright ridiculous, in terms of specs. I also particularly love Italian cars and Italian design. So, I decided to go with one of the most prestigious and famous Italian design houses, Pininfarina. Currently Pininfarina are working on creating an amazing all-electric supercar.

In the ad I wanted to have a blank slate with the white background, with a slight vignette. I wanted to have the car on a piece of road going through the white space with nature sprouting up behind or at least coming into existence as the car moves forward in the blank space. This creates a beautiful juxtaposition with the predominantly white space on the left and the predominantly greens of the right and the car, in beautiful blue, connecting the whites and the greens. The contrasting blue of the car makes it stand out just like I wanted it to as that is the focus of the ad. I also wanted the forest to have a pop of green with some sun poking through them; I wanted it to have a happy, relaxing, refreshing feeling, which contrasts with the neutral of the white background and dark road. Thankfully I found just the shot. Of course, a bit of editing went into bringing everything together and just right, from the road, the forest, to the lighting. I added a light vignette to bring everything together and draw focus on the center area of the ad. The text I chose to highlight some key attributes of the car without it becoming packed with information. Using my bit of knowledge about the auto industry I thought of a few keywords that would stand out/get people’s attention. On the top left I placed the logo of the brand and on the bottom right I placed the logo of the name of the car, Battista, which is the name of the founder of Pininfarina and taken from the actual signature of the founder of the company. I chose to especially highlight the word "All-Electric" just to emphasize that this car is no ordinary supercar but an all-electric supercar which doesn’t exist yet and a new leap in the supercar category. I see this appearing as either a billboard or a large poster or maybe in a magazine. But I would see it more so appearing on a large poster or a billboard.

FROM SKETCH TO PRODUCTION (BOOK)

A self made book for a photography class project. My book is focused on showing the transition of a vehicle from a design sketch to the next step, a prototype model. The work was done in both Photoshop & Illustrator and printed out to be in a book 10 inches by 7 inches.

GLOBAL WARMING PROPAGANDA POSTER

A propaganda poster I made pro & against global warming for my photography class at NYU.

"OMNIA" - UNITY 3D GAME (TITLE/END SCREEN)

This is a game project I worked in a group of 2 people, Robert Schwartzberg and I, where we created a 3D video game called Omnia build using the Unity3D game engine. My job consisted of character design, 2D graphics, 3D modeling, texturing, rigging and animating and helping with the game design process. The game is inspired from Japanese RPGs like the famed Final Fantasy series, especially Final Fantasy VII. This game is about the main character, Skyler, going on a journey, meeting friends on the way, to save the Empire from an attack from the neighboring kingdom. It is an open world adventure where you explore and collect interesting items and fight bad guys to save the empire. But beware not everything is as clear as it may seem. Brainstormed & started late 2014. Stopped around June 2014. But then work began again on September 2015.

"TECHNOLOGY FREE YOUTH" - PHOTOJOURNALISM

A photojournalism project that I made for my photography class at NYU Poly. It focuses on showing the youth of the 21st century, technology-free to some extent and just interacting among each other, person-to-person.
Made using InDesign February 2015.

STAR WARS - ANAKIN & VADER: ONE & THE SAME?

I was recently inspired to make a poster for myself regarding Star Wars and its connection to Eastern mysticism focusing here on a major character, Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader who has been on both sides of the force; the light & dark. This work was a lot of fun conceptualizing and finally seeing the finished product. I truly love Star Wars and was hoping to have it done for Star Wars Day, May 4, but finished just a few days late on the 7th. It is a poster that you can orient based on the side of the force you are feeling more attuned to; Jedi or light side of the force represented in blue or Sith or dark side of the force represented in red. I have both versions shown here for ease of viewing.

The poster focuses on one of the protagonist and later antagonist of the Star Wars Skywalker saga, Anakin Skywalker later known as Darth Vader. In the poster I wanted to show him in deep meditation with a focus on three of the most important people in each side of his life story. I also wanted to have him sitting in a location or background that is deeply connected to him and his life story; Tatooine, as recognizable by the two suns and sand, and Mustafar with the warm tones and glimpses of lava around the corners.

The people I focused on for Anakin are Obi-Wan Kenobi in the center, Padme Amidala on the left, and Ahsoka Tano on the right.

The people I focused on for Darth Vader are Darth Sidious AKA Sheev Palpatine in the center, Padme Amidala, again, on the left, and Luke Skywalker on the right as seen in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (with the blue lightsaber).

More details on characters can be found in the link below.

2021: ANOTHER STELLAR YEAR

Reflecting on what a year 2021 had been! It seemed like a continuation of 2020 in many ways, not least the covid pandemic. But on a personal note, it was another blessed year for me. After the great 2020, which I wasn't sure would be matched or topped any time soon, God had other plans for me in 2021.

2021 brought with it another round of multiple Emmy nominations, more than I expected, which was quite the surprise for me. But it became the year I actually won my first Emmy!

Winning an Emmy has been a lifelong dream. Being nominated is an honor in itself but winning one is something else, especially when it's your first one. God had provided me with my first Emmy win & I felt & still feel over the moon.

I always believe that God rewards those who have belief & who work with sincerity. But God had something else in store for me as well. It was a step towards what I have dreamed of since I was a child, something I have been working towards since I entered college; to work for Disney.

I got the opportunity to become a Disney employee working as an animator & graphic designer at ABC. It's such an honor, such a great opportunity, & my short time there so far has been amazing; a dream every day! It's still surreal that I am a Disney employee, & I am grateful every day to God for giving me this opportunity & everything else this year in 2021.

I am grateful for all the wins & even the losses in life as they have all had something to teach me & to make me better than I was before. I cherish the wins as much, maybe a little more lol, as the losses because the losses humble me & make me reflect on the lessons God is trying to teach me through it.

It had been a great 2021 &  I hope to carry forward this positive energy all through 2022. My wish for 2022 is to be better than I was in 2021, mentally, physically, as a creative, & most importantly as a person. I leave it in God's hands as I have so far.

2020: MY GOLDEN YEAR

As I go through the first day of 2021 I look back on the year that was 2020. It was my golden year with many milestone moments.
.
1. It started off with my golden birthday.
2. I am part of two teams that receive Emmy nominations.
3. I am part of a team that wins the Murrow Award.
4. I am part of a team that wins the New York Press Club award.
5. I end the year receiving my Master of Science with honors.
.
I had a major loss but overall it was a blessed year for me. Goodbye 2020, you will forever be memorable.
.
P.S. A lot of stuff in the picture are things you'll find in my home. Lol
This artwork is inspired by a post I saw on Bleacher Report.
